Chem-Crete University

Welcome!

Chem-Crete University (CCU) has the goal of providing education, in many forms, to those who would benefit from a deep understanding of concrete including its constituent ingredients, the hydration process and its reactions to stresses and problems during the complete life cycle of concrete.

Specific educational focus is given to the patented, crystalline-based technology used in Chem-Crete products. Understanding how water, in all its forms, is the basis for both the success and failure of concrete is explained in detail. This includes full life-cycle analysis, from achieving more complete hydration to preventing or eliminating common concrete stresses and problems including Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR), cracking, reinforcement corrosion and freeze thaw damage and other many stresses and problems.

Chem-Crete crystalline-waterproofing materials and concrete sealers utilize pore blocking and pore lining with hygroscopicity, hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity, producing unique, high-performance results. Chem-Crete waterproofing materials have been tested through independent laboratory testing companies such as CMT and CTL and through industry-academic cooperation research projects such as University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC), City, University of London and Brunel University, London .

CCU also provides documentation of real-world projects showcasing the range of technology and environmental benefits. More sustainable concrete is safer, in every way, directly reduces carbon footprint, runway and road closures and life cycle maintenance costs. In addition to these wide-ranging benefits, you will learn about several other application-specific benefits such as how the technology reduces ice adhesion to pavement. Concrete with lower ice adhesion results in airport and road authorities using less deicing chemicals, lowering costs, extending life cycle, protecting the environment and improving public safety.

INTERNATIONAL CHEM-CRETE has developed the most advanced technology for concrete and asphalt sustainability benefitting both new and existing concrete and asphalt structures. This unique, patented technology allows for concrete and asphalt that is more durable, longer-lasting, better for the environment and more sustainable.

Radi Al-Rashed, President and CEO, has worked for over thirty years focusing the company on its mission of cutting-edge research and product development. During that time, he has been awarded twenty-three patents from organizations in the United States, European Union and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).  Numerous trademarks for commercially-available, construction-related chemical including Chem-Crete PAVIX™, Chem-Crete MCE™, Chem-Crete SOFIX™, Chem-Crete YUFIX™ and Chem-Crete ASP™ have also been awarded.

A comprehensive book and several peer-reviewed papers have resulted from the culmination of research, testing, product development and real-world applications of Chem-Crete products. Contributing to these accomplishments is a select group of Chem-Crete consultants and a wider-ranging group including academics, institutions, laboratories and industry experts.
